El Presidente’s Message

Dear NHSC Members,

Wow, in a wink of an eye, it’s been a year!

Last April, I was elected President and I had a few ideas of what I wanted to do for our club.  Like all things, some of my ideas came to be and others are still a work in progress.

The club is a group of people from all walks of life with a common goal, and that goal is to have FUN!  Whether it’s skiing, socializing at the club, biking, hiking or whatever event we come up with, it’s about having fun with the club.

I wanted the club to be more fun and have more members participate in all our events.  I believe, I did a good job on the fun side, but would have liked to get even more members involved.  In earlier newsletters, I wrote all we need is you!  True then and true now.  We have great events for the summer and next ski season all we need is you with a DECISION to “have fun!”

The work still in progress is what I call the “Next Generation”.  The Next Generation is a member who is in their 20’s and 30’s who will be the future leaders of the NHSC.  My mission is to increase membership size so we can keep present members and have space for new “Next Generation” members and to get them more involved in our great club.  A By-Law vote will happen at the Fall President’s BBQ to increase membership; and I personally encourage younger members to get more involved in our club.

I would like to thank all the officers (Souki Tsialas, Allan Lawton, Tracey Gajewski, Cathie Reese) and Julie Lindberg and all the committee chairpersons for all their assistance to make the past year a great success.

Finally, I would like to thank the club for having me as your el Presidente.  I have enjoyed every moment of it and will deeply miss it.

Your 2007-8 NHSC President!

PAUL WEISS
