The New Haven Ski Club offers a full range of skiing activities suitable for all levels of ability. As skiers we all enjoy the fun, challenge and camaraderie that goes with racing, vacationing, partying and skiing on majestic slopes at great resorts. The New Haven Ski Club helps make this sport and our other activities easier to enjoy because we are organized --- everything from transportation to lodging. Below is a partial list of the activities and facilities that the Club has to offer.
With your paid membership you will begin to receive our year-round monthly newsletter, "The Snowflake", which lists upcoming events.
The New Haven Ski Club, Inc. meets every Thursday at 8:00p.m. at the Harugari Club located at 66 Highland Street (at the top of the hill) in West Haven, Connecticut. Our annual Open House is the official kick off for the new ski season. The event features representatives from New England and Canadian ski areas and local ski shops, and dozens of door prizes will be awarded. Our various committees will also have tables set up to provide information about the club and all of the activities that we are involved in. This event is also the first opportunity for our membership to reserve space in our Snowflake Lodge and the Weekend and Day bus trips.

Application for membership is open to all individuals 21 years of age or older. Initial dues for a new members are: Single $70.00 Household $100.00. Discounts are available for renewals. Application for membership can be viewed and printed out from Online Membership.

The club plans week long ski trips each year. Some of the past destinations have been major ski resorts in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Canada, France, and Switzerland. The trip is usually held between late January and early March. Check out our Annual Winter Trip for this year.

Ski club trips let you enjoy skiing for the day or weekend without worrying about the drive home. Bus trips generally depart from the North Haven Commuter lot at exit 10 off Interstate 91. Ski areas usually included are: Killington, Okemo, Sunday River, Stratton, Mt. Snow, Sugarloaf, Stowe, Jay Peak, Mont Sainte Anne, Mont Tremblant, and conditions permitting, Tuckerman's Ravine at Mount Washington.

Informal ski instruction is offered by club members who are certified by the Amateur Ski Instructors Association (ASIA). Lessons are available on our bus trips and are free of charge.

The Connecticut Ski Council sponsors team racing on Monday nights at Mount Southington. Racing begins late December and runs through February. The club participates in the Ski Council's "On Snow Weekend" and other major events and celebrates the winners at Club Weekend near the end of March. Racing is open to all levels of skiers, men and women, from new racers to expert.

Two race training events are on tap for this year, dates to be announced. These clinics provide a great way to sharpen not only your racing skills but also your overall skiing ability.

Our season kicks off the first Thursday of September with a welcome back barbecue. Other meeting activities include pizza night, game night, golf league party, and a Halloween Costume party. Still to come are Wine tasting, Cigar Night, Holiday party, Champagne party, Ski Council "Snowball", and International Buffet night and the end of season Spring Banquet.

The New Haven Ski Club is a year round organization so our activities don't stop when the snow melts. The club membership organizes weekly golf and tennis programs and summer tournaments. We organize a camping weekend, Misquamicut weekend along with canoe/kayak trips, bike rides, weekend hikes, golf outings, in-line skating groups, bus trip to a Yankee baseball game, and theater. Our members have also been involved with charitable events such as fund raising walks and donation drives.
